Los investigadores creen que la capacidad de una persona para actuar en otras culturas se puede medir e incluso aprender y mejorar. No solo eso. La\u00a0inteligencia cultural (CQ) podr\u00eda ser la herramienta clave para determinar el \u00e9xito de alguien\u00a0en un mundo cada vez m\u00e1s global.<\/em><\/h3>

Cruzar fronteras se ha vuelto una rutina. No solo en los viajes de placer. Las compa\u00f1\u00edas cada vez tienen una visi\u00f3n m\u00e1s global y el teletrabajo ha vuelto frecuente los equipos interculturales, lo que ha subrayado la necesidad de manejarse en otras lenguas y aprender ciertas normas culturales, coment\u00f3 Business Insider.<\/p>

En un entorno empresarial cada vez m\u00e1s diverso, los profesionales deben ser capaces navegar a trav\u00e9s de la mara\u00f1a de h\u00e1bitos, gestos y suposiciones <\/strong>que definen las diferencias de sus compa\u00f1eros de trabajo, explican desde<\/a> Harvard Business Review<\/em>. Y eso requiere de percepci\u00f3n y adaptabilidad.<\/p>

Una persona con estos rasgos podr\u00eda percibir un tab\u00fa antes de que ocurra o leer el lenguaje corporal cuando las palabras fallan. No hacerlo puede generar malentendidos y hacer que la cooperaci\u00f3n entre equipos o compa\u00f1eros sea imposible.<\/p>

Esta habilidad se encuentra desde hace tiempo en el foco de las compa\u00f1\u00edas a la hora de captar el mejor talento.<\/p>

\u201cEl predictor n\u00famero uno de tu \u00e9xito en el mundo sin fronteras<\/strong> de hoy no es tu coeficiente intelectual, ni tu curr\u00edculum, ni siquiera tu experiencia\u201d, escribe el cient\u00edfico social David Livermore en su libro The Cultural Intelligence Difference, <\/em>fragmento <\/a>recogido por BBC<\/em>. “Es tu CQ”.<\/p>

Qu\u00e9 es la inteligencia cultural<\/h2>

Seg\u00fan Harvard, “la inteligencia cultural, o CQ, es la capacidad de dar sentido a contextos desconocidos y despu\u00e9s integrarse”. <\/strong><\/p>

As\u00ed, una persona con un alto nivel de inteligencia cultural puede deducir del comportamiento de una persona o grupo las caracter\u00edsticas que ser\u00edan aplicables a estos, sus peculiaridades y aquellas que no son ni universales ni idiosincr\u00e1ticas. <\/p>

Gran parte de la investigaci\u00f3n sobre este concepto ha sido realizada por Soon Ang,<\/strong> profesor en la Universidad Tecnol\u00f3gica de Nanyang en Singapur. <\/p>

A finales de la d\u00e9cada de 1990 se encarg\u00f3 de formar a un equipo internacional de programadores. A pesar de ser mentes brillantes en su \u00e1rea, no pod\u00edan trabajar juntos. No era una cuesti\u00f3n de experiencia o motivaci\u00f3n, relata el art\u00edculo <\/a>en BBC<\/em>, Ang percibi\u00f3 en cambio que “estaban tropezando con las diferencias culturales de los dem\u00e1s, lo que provoc\u00f3 una ruptura en la comunicaci\u00f3n y la comprensi\u00f3n”.<\/p>

Este hallazgo le llev\u00f3 a desarrollar junto con el psic\u00f3logo organizacional P. Christopher Earley, hoy decano de la escuela de negocios y econom\u00eda de la Universidad de Tasmania, (Australia), una teor\u00eda integral sobre la CQ, que definieron como “la capacidad de funcionar de manera efectiva en una variedad de contextos culturales”<\/strong>.<\/p>
